Getting started

Who do you work with?

I work with adults (18+) and couples who are located in Georgia. Common reasons people reach out include anxiety, depression, overwhelming emotions, relationship strain, life transitions, and wanting to understand themselves more deeply.

How do I get started?

Send a message through the secure contact form. I’ll reply to set up a brief conversation about what you’re looking for and whether we’re a good fit. If we are, you’ll receive intake paperwork through the secure client portal before your first session.

What happens in the first session?

The intake session is a chance to talk about what brings you to therapy, your history, and your goals. You can ask me anything about how I work. We’ll also decide together whether you’d like to include astrology.

Online therapy

How does online therapy work?

Sessions happen over secure, HIPAA-compliant video through the client portal. You join from a private space using a computer, tablet, or phone with a reliable internet connection. There’s no app to install.

Do I need to be in Georgia?

Yes. Because I am licensed in Georgia, you need to be physically located in Georgia at the time of each session, even if you live elsewhere part of the year.

Is online therapy as effective as in-person therapy?

For many people and many concerns, research shows online therapy works about as well as in-person therapy. It also removes commute time and lets you meet from a space where you feel comfortable.

Astrology

What is astrology-informed therapy?

It is evidence-based psychotherapy that also uses your birth chart as a symbolic, reflective lens. The chart can offer language and imagery for exploring your patterns, relationships, and values. It is not used to diagnose, predict, or replace clinical care.

Do I have to believe in astrology?

Not at all. Astrology is entirely optional. Standard psychotherapy is always available, and you can change your mind at any time.

What information do you need for my birth chart?

Your birth date, time, and place. I only collect this through the secure client portal after you begin, never through this website.

Fees & policies

Do you take insurance?

No. I am a private-pay practice, which means I don’t bill insurance directly. Many people use HSA or FSA funds for therapy.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

Under the No Surprises Act, if you are not using insurance you have the right to receive a written estimate of the expected cost of your care. I’ll provide one before your first session, and you can ask for one at any time.

Is what I share confidential?

Yes, with a few legal exceptions, such as a risk of serious harm to yourself or others, or suspected abuse of a child or vulnerable adult. We’ll review confidentiality and its limits in detail at your first session.

Do you prescribe medication?

No. As a licensed clinical social worker, I don’t prescribe medication, but I’m glad to coordinate with your prescriber or help you find one.

What if I’m in crisis?

This practice is not a crisis service. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), call the Georgia Crisis & Access Line at 1-800-715-4225, or call 911.
